There has been a lot of talk on various golf clubs and other products suffering from copying.  Callaway clubs were the first to suffer from this.  Ebay and some warehouse sellers seem to be the main outlet for these type of copies, although other products have suffered, the brand names in clothing and fashion like Chanel, Tiffany, etc. have suffered most.

Spring Golf – start with the short game

Time to get out and start playing golf. If you have been stretching and keeping yourself fit over the winter then it should be easier to get back into the swing.

Being off playing the first thing people tend to lose is their short game. My view is start off with the short game and work up to the full golf shots from there. This gives you time to get the feel back in the game and gradually loosens the body off as the increase in swing slowly releases the muscle memory.

Stay fit for golf

Staying fit in the winter is difficult. This not only due to not getting out for a game with the winter weather but the temperature is so low that even the most flexible of players are feeling stiff.

I suggest to do some stretching and flexibility exercises while in the house. This keeps the muscles and body not having to strain when finally getting on the tee in the early spring. There is nothing worse than having to be up against the golf course when your body is also against you. Do yourself a favour and give yourself a head start by stretching regularly – NOW!

Use of hedgehog wheels for electric golf trolleys

There seems to be a new rubber wheel cover designed for electric golf trolleys to use in the winter.  These rubber wheels are suppose to protect the golf course from making wheel tracks in the soft winter course conditions.

These rubber attachments as fairway protectors, they are perfect, eliminating any damage made by standard trolley wheels leaving no impression on your course and avoiding the necessity for winter trolley bans. With most electric trolleys the problem has always been the small front wheel, we at The Hedgehog Golf Company have been working hard over the last year or so to give the golfer and the Golf Clubs what they have been constantly asking for

Golf but not after skiing

Playing golf in the cold conditions in itself is not easy, but after a skiing session the previous day.

How can you say to your playing partners I’m not playing well because all my leg muscles are not co-ordinating due fatigue and tiredness, in fact they are completely gone. You don’t dare say anything like that or your just seen as a whimp.

So learn the lesson, if your going to go out on the couse thinking ‘ I know i wont play well but i’ll just go out for a hit no matter how i play especially with your usual Saturday fourball don’t! Playing golf in -5

Playing golf at Troon in -5 is not really much fun. Not only does the body and muscles not work but the conditions are not worth playing in. Shots are too unpredictable play short of the green and where dies it bounce? It doesn’t, then one thinks ‘but the last hole it bounced I carried 30 yards and bounced 30 yards carried another 20 yards and ended up through the green by 40 yards.

One thing which didn’t let me down was my Precision electric golf trolley although freezing conditions it performed great.

Golf in the winter

Playing golf in the winter used to look like the photo below. What has happened to the UK weather. I remember not long ago there was an article on the news talking about the Sun having an unprecedented length of NO activity. It also mentioned that low sun activity can lead to cold winters and global cooling. The report said that normally any period of no Sun activity usually only lasts for a couple weeks at the most, but this time it had been nine months. Do you think there is something in this?
